Joel P. Mason
Joel brings nearly a decade of legal experience to Pugh & Pugh, with a background in private practice, municipal law, prosecution, and business law. Prior to joining the firm, Joel practiced in Clay Center for nine years, including four years serving as Clay County Attorney in addition to maintaining his private practice.
Known for his thoughtful and straightforward approach, Joel works closely with clients to understand their objectives and provides practical legal counsel tailored to their individual circumstances. His diverse professional background has given him experience navigating matters ranging from private legal representation to the unique needs of local government and public entities. Most recently, Joel spent a year teaching business law for Fort Hays State University at its partner university in China, bringing an additional perspective to his work with businesses and clients.
A Kansas native, Joel grew up on a farm outside of Wakefield and is pleased to be back in the area and putting down roots in the Wamego community. Outside of the office, he is an avid hunter, enjoys fly fishing, playing guitar, and traveling.
